Congratulations to our Open Boys Football team who won their first round NSWCIS Football Cup fixture this week v Emmanuel School 4-1. The five boys on debut made a big impression, proudly representing our School. Special mention regarding our new goalkeeper, Lochlan. He managed to save a penalty when the score was 1-1, which was the turning point in the match.

The students in the Senior School have been enjoying using our new Learning Commons. Similiar to the concept of the common lands that can be found in English villages, the Learning Commons is a place where students and teachers can gather together for learning. This space is open to all students during Recess and Lunchtime. During class time a number of Year 12 students can be found utilising the space for their study periods. There is great flexibility in the furniture and the space can be used for many purposes all at the same time. After School Study Centre has found a new home in this space as well this year and we have seen a great number of students taking up this opportunity.
Week 2 signalled the return of the Inaburra Ensemble Music Program. Miss Jennifer Geering is currently leading the team with the incomparable Mr Ray Avard taking control of the Band Program. It will be a year of hard work for all the students as they look towards our tour to Japan in December.
For many years Year 7 students have attended their first school camp at the beginning of the year. It is a great way to bring all the students together and helps friendships form quickly. This year's camp was held in the Royal National Park and the students were involved in many exciting activities over the three days. On the Thursday night of camp the Prefects and Year 9 Leaders came down and ran a fantastic games night for the students. Thanks to all the teachers who gave their time to make this camp happen.
On just the second day of school for the year we had the Senior School Swimming Carnival at Engadine pool. Congratulations to all who participated on the day. Thanks to Mr Dixon and team for running a superb event, especially in the hot weather.
